MCF Announces Board of Trustees for 2006-2007
August 4, 2006 – McLean, VA – The McLean Citizens Foundation, charitable arm of the McLean Citizens Association, elected new Trustees and a slate of officers for the upcoming year.
Local business leader Dan Smoot and Martin Smith, a federal government official who has worked for 20 years in the field of international trade policy, were elected new Trustees. Caethe Richardson, who has served on many volunteer boards including MCF, returned as a Trustee.
Officers for the upcoming year are Trish Butler, President; Beth Chung, Vice President; Bill DuBose, Treasurer; and Adrienne Whyte, Secretary. Co-chairing the MCF Grants Committee will be Diane D'Arcy and Martin Smith.
MCF, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, has funded worthy projects in the Greater McLean area for the past 25 years. Recent grant recipients include The McLean Volunteer Fire Department, Clemijontry Park , McLean Project for the Arts and SHARE, Inc. The MCF web site lists a history of grants made to the community, which is closing in on one million dollars in funding to local organizations.
Not-for-profit organizations in the Greater McLean area that are interested in submitting proposals can find grant policy information and the application form on the MCF web site at www.mcleancitizensfoundation.org . Applications for the fall round of grants must be postmarked no later than October 1, 2006.
